Upper Kenai River Float Trips within the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

Steve

Keen Eye Anglers specializes in full and half day guided, drift boat-based, fly fishing trips on the Upper Kenai River. The Upper Kenai is a non-motorized stretch of water that meanders a scenic 17-miles from Kenai Lake to Skilak Lake. Our float trips focus on the 10 miles of premium water within the most wild and remote portions of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, including the famed “Kenai Canyon.” This section of river is famous among anglers for its abundance and size of wild rainbow trout and Dolly Varden, along with its healthy runs of sockeye (red) and silver (coho) salmon. This is our featured, premium trip, and is highly recommended for the casual angler seeking a well-rounded Alaskan experience as well as the serious fly-fisher aiming to land the fish of a lifetime.

Available:    June 11 through October 31

Trip Costs:

Middle and Lower Kenai River Fly Fishing Trips

Steve

The Lower Kenai is a “motorized” stretch flowing for approximately 50 miles downstream from Skilak Lake before emptying into the North Pacific at the City of Kenai. The first 10 miles are locally known as the Middle River. While the Middle and Lower Kenai are often associated with powerboats and an overall busier pace, they’re also home to some of the most beautiful trophy Rainbow Trout on the Kenai. Depending on the time of year, a drift boat fly fishing trip on the Middle or Lower Kenai can be very productive! It’s also a great option for anglers looking to add variety to a few days on the Upper River.
